What flooring works best in Calgary’s climate?+
There is no single answer for every room. Engineered hardwood offers real-wood character with improved stability through seasonal humidity changes. LVP is useful where moisture resistance and easy maintenance matter. Carpet provides warmth and comfort in bedrooms and basements. We recommend the material after considering the room, substrate, household and long-term expectations.
Does my floor need levelling before installation?+
Many floors need at least some preparation. During the measure, we assess the substrate for high spots, low areas and conditions that could affect the finished installation. Concrete grinding, patching or self-levelling may be recommended when required for a flatter, more stable result.
Can you install flooring on concrete or in a basement?+
Yes. The correct flooring and installation method depend on moisture conditions, substrate flatness and the intended use of the space. Engineered hardwood, LVP and carpet can all be considered for below-grade applications when the site conditions and manufacturer requirements allow it.
How long does a flooring installation take?+
Timing depends on square footage, material, site access, removal requirements and the amount of floor preparation needed. After measuring and inspecting the site, Legacy provides a clear scope so you understand the work and expected schedule before installation begins.
What workmanship warranty does Legacy provide?+
